It's hard to believe that another year has come around and we are now preparing for Holt and Sherringham's 1940 weekend. We are again sacrificing cute animals to the "God's of fine weather" but this year looks like it could be a damp one. But not to worry as we will be under cover on the market field at Holt station and have a lovely stock of original period frames for you to peruse whilst sheltering from the showers.
Come and see us and don't forget to bring your prescription if you want lenses fitted.
I'm just off to the workshop to make sure you all get the bests frames possible, but before I go I think I'll just go find us one more kitten 😉

Hi,
things have been very
much busy, busy, busy at Deadmen's Towers over the last few months. The website
has been earning its keep and I’ve been in the workshop preparing lots of frames
for some big name shows in London as well as a couple of well known opera companies.
As we head in to summer we
find ourselves with a few shows to attend. We will be at Heydon with LittleVintage Lover Fairs, Gressenhall’s village at war and also North Norfolk Railway’s1940’s weekend. So please look out for us and come and say hello.
We also have a new recruit in the photo booth 😀 - "Uncle Walter"
Alongside this Mrs Deadman
– Claire, is also attending a raft of shows locally over the Summer promoting her
business Broadsky Astorology. She has been an astrologer for over 20 years and
is now offering her services locally and online through her website.
So as I said busy all round,
but having fun.......... what more could a man want?!

Dead Men's Spex at Hemsby
Hi there
Hooray! Spring has arrived and with it the start of the show season. Deadmen's Spex is off to Hemsby Rock N Roll weekend on Friday 10th May to Sunday 12th May. I've dusted Deadman down ready for his first show of 2013. This is our seventh year at Hemsby and we are looking forward to seeing our customers and friends.
All the stock is ready, Deadman has been busy in his workshop preparing a whole selection of great new frames for both ladies and men to complement our usual stock. My favourite has to be a beautiful aluminium Tura frame.

Many happy returns... toot,toot!
Hi Folks,
Mrs Deadman here.
I have taken up the baton of blog writer for Dead Men's Spex. I was
alarmed to see that a year had whizzed past since our last post. I would like
to update everyone as to the chicken status at Dead Men’s Towers. The Deadman
won! He joined forces with our neighbour and now we have 3 chickens on the
allotment. Initially they were very good at dutifully producing eggs but now
the supply has dwindled to a big fat zero! Apparently, this is down to them
moulting, We could make a feather bed, or at least, a pillow, from the feathers
wafting around their pen. That would be very “make do and mend”! I have had to
resort to buying eggs from the neighbour who initially supplied the birds, much
to his delight.
Turning now to glasses, we have had a busy summer and three
good shows; Twinwoods, Little Vintage Lover Fair and Sheringham 1940’sweekend. It was lovely to see so many of
you again and to enjoy a rain free Twinwoods, something of a luxurious novelty.
As autumn is here, Deadman is now settling back into his
rightful place in the workshop. We have just received a delivery of gents’
frames, so look out for them on our website.

Show Time!
March starts the festival and show season for us at Dead Men’s Spex.

So far we have stood a one day vintage clothing fair for our friends at Little Vintage Lover Fair http://www.littlevintageloverfair.co.uk/ in the ancient surrounds of Dragon Hall in Norwich http://www.dragonhall.org/ . It is a building that has been standing for nearly 600 years and I’m happy to report that it survived the weekend even with Angela on bacon butty duty in the kitchens.
Waiting for the decorators!
Waiting for the doors to open.
The second show of the month was a three day event at Pakefield with Hepcats Holidays http://www.hepcatsholiday.com/ . Here we found ourselves washed up amongst friends in the hulk of a holed ocean liner swinging out to the JIVE ACES the DING DONG DADDIOS and the wonderful BERNARD BERKHOUT’S SWING ORCHESTRA.

The HMS Hepcat having hit the ice floating in a huge Dry Martini
Shows have always been a way of getting to meet new customers and friends. The internet is a wonderful tool and shop front, but nothing beats meeting people face to face.
I hope to see some of you at a show soon.
